Community

I am glad to report that I am doing much better than I was doing last Sunday!

I think that I have healed up nicely and I give the credit first to God and then to community.  When I say community I mean my group of family and friends.  I have had someone here with me every day since I had my surgery! More than that I have not cooked dinner since!  Our wonderful family and community group friends have kept us well fed!  I truly believe being surrounded my God and His people have made my healing so successful!  

So even though this has been a hard, stressful, painful week, we have still had our great times!

Jackson and Eva Kate's relationship continues to bloom and I love more than anything to see them interact with each other!  

 

My wonderful Grandmother that lives in North Georgia couldn't come down to help me so she sent me a care package.  Of course she included fun things for the kids. Jackson loves his new animal hats!

 I even joined in on the fun!

One Less Organ

Friday night I started having horrible stomach pain along with nausea and a fever.  That lasted throughout the night and I woke up with the same horrible pain on my right side which was very sensitive to touch.  After an hour or so at the Summit Urgent Care, the doctor sent me straight to the emergency room.  Luckily the wait was not bad.  I still felt bad "wasting" an awesome Saturday in the emergency room if nothing was wrong.  The doctor examined me and scheduled a CT scan.  I had to drink a not so bad drink and then wait two hours for the scan.  After that whole ordeal a surgeon came in and told us that they could compare my CT scans (I had one a year or so back) and that my appendix was significantly larger.  So literally after being diagnosed I was being prepped for surgery.  The surgeon told me that it would take about 30 minutes, I would be in recovery for about 45 minutes and then could GO HOME!  Everyone at Piedmont Fayette Hospital was incredible.  The doctors and nurses were amazing (as usual).  

So now I am at home and recovering.  I am in alot of pain but I am getting better every day and pushing myself to see the positive. It is really hard not being able to pick up my kids but I want to do what is best for me.  I have also realized how blessed I am and God has shown me the wonderful people he has blessed me with to have in my life.  My family and Andrew's family has be INCREDIBLE!  They have taken turns watching the kids, making food, and just making sure that we are making okay with out Momma (me) being 100%.  We have also been blessed with an amazing community group through our church.  They have prayed for us, brought us meals and just been there in our time of need.  I cannot thank them enough for all they have done!  

I can't leave this blog without adding a few photos of the kids.  I mean that is why you read it right?  You don't want to hear my problems, you want the cute kids:)  Enjoy!

Also Eva Kate has become mobile in her walker, which drives Jackson crazy because she pulls off everything in her reach! 

 

 Being on a "liquid" diet the first few days Andrew and I made Potato Soup!

 

If you would like the recipe it is so easy and sooo yummy! Here it is and you can thank Paula Deen.  Now I did not add shrimp just a basic potato soup and it was so yummy!

Jackson has loved having his Aunt Sarah around the past few days!

Hopefully I my next post will be about how great I am feeling!  Keep up the prayers!

Fun Times Together

We had a great day yesterday.  Little Eva Kate is attempting to crawl.  She can get her arms up and push up but then can't get her legs up.  Then she can get her legs up but not her arms.  Even though she isn't "crawling" she can get anywhere she needs to by rolling and sliding:)  Love her!

They are so sweet together!

This morning Jackson's class had a special Mother's Day snack.  I had so much fun going into his class and spending time with him. 

Jackson made me this sweet bracelet (that he insists I do not take it off) and this adorable print of his hand.  

I just love this kid! Eva Kate even had fun...I guess this was her date to the party :) 

Just like Daddy do

These are just some adorable shots I got of Jackson yesterday!

Jackson is always trying to be just like Daddy.  Or how Jackson says it, "just like Daddy do."  Last night while we were waiting on Daddy to come home Jackson decided he wanted to play Daddy.  He got a hat just like Daddy's, got on his garden gloves, glasses (we had to settle for Eva Kate's), and of course the tractor.  We hooked up his "wagon pull"  and he loaded up his wagon with his chainsaw and other Daddy essentials.  One word... ADORABLE!  

 He even trimmed our bushes!

 

 

Eva Kate enjoyed watching.  We had the bubble machine going so she loved that!  And she finally got her sunglasses back from her brother!

Also for those prayer partners of mine out there I have a new request.  For those already praying for Chris Landreau I now have another request.  Chris had posted on his Facebook about a child that he met and this story just breaks my heart but OUR GOD can do ANYTHING!

Growing Up

My little man is growing up so fast!  I know it always seems like I am saying that but I swear every time I turn around, or every time he wakes up from his nap I think he grows up!  Speaking of growing up, Jackson is an amazing puzzle putter togetherer:)  Yep I made that up but it works!  He amazes me how well he can do this!  Here are a few photos of the proud Jackson when he finished one of his Veggie Tales puzzles. 

Later in the afternoon Jackson watched me dip my Oreo in milk.  Jackson isn't usually a child that says "I want to try that" when it deals with food.  So for some reason he wanted to share this snack with me and he LOVED it.  In sad news, we did lose a few Oreos in the glass of milk.  (There were about 5 whole Oreos at the bottom).

Spring Time

I have to admit that I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year.  

Reasons to love Spring:

Playing outside,

 

grilling out, flowers blooming (Andrew has an amazing green thumb), 

Easter,

 

love, 

 

flip flops (even though you can probably catch me in those year round), taking walks, just being outside and many more things. I think the thing about Spring is that it preps you for all the great things in the summer!

 

Oh and on a completely different note...did I mention that sometimes I live with a pirate?

 Yeah my life pretty much rocks:)
