Last week of January

This last week of January I think my kids wanted to end it with a bang! It started off with EKC not sleeping (which is unusual). Every month or so she will have a night and we just attribute it to a "growth spurt". Well this time we thought it could be teething because our sweet angel was great all day but she waiting until our heads hit the pillow and the scream fest began. Nothing would sooth. New diaper, no. Warm bottle, no (was afraid she was getting into the habit!). Rocking and cuddling, no. Jackson started to not feel well around Tuesday so we figured EKC was the same way. We waited it out thinking they were getting better until Saturday morning we decided it was time to feel better again and we were dying for sleep! Both kiddos have a sinus infection. EKC was weighing in at a whopping 17lbs and Jackson at his content 30.

Both kids have been taking their medicine great! Even Jackson takes all his medicine down with little fuss! (Answered prayer if you don't remember what I use to go through!) So I kept Jackson out of school one more day just to make sure we have enough meds in him and for me to start feeling better.

On a great note I finally got a full nights rest after a week of not sleeping through the night! Also EKC got her first pair of shoes. She loves jumping in her jumpy thing and trying to stand up so we wanted to protect those little feet. Are they not adorable???

Also on a great note the weather was FABULOUS! Luckily Jackson started feeling better and got to play outside all weekend with his Daddy and his sandbox! I also got this great expression from Jackson! Love that boy!

After I took this picture Andrew got a hold of my camera...and he took some really great shots!

I Heart Faces: Best Faces Photo in January

This week the photo challenge on I Heart Faces is People's Choice: Best Face Photo in January. I chose the picture of Eva Kate in her exersaucer because I loved the smirk on her face.

I only wish I knew what she was thinking!

I Heart Faces: Winter Wonderland

This week's photo challenge at I heart Faces is "Winter Wonderland". Remember that for this blog you must include a photo with a face:) I know that it has snowed/iced here in Georgia twice in the past month but unfortunately I have not been able to get a really good photo, one because I usually have EKC strapped to me and secondly Jackson has said it is too icy outside. So I just thought that the photo of Jackson on the sled was great. I just love his face and how it seems to say..."wow I wish there were more snow...I really wanted to build a snowman". Poor little man...hopefully we will get a snow where a "Frosty the Snowman" can be built!

Enjoy and please if you are a photographer take a moment to check out this amazing blog!

Ice Days....

We were so excited about the big "snow storm" we were to be getting starting on Sunday night. I was very skeptical of what we were actually going to get here in the big GA. Just to be safe Saturday morning we stocked up on the necessities: milk, bread, formula, diapers, wipes, you get the idea. Well Sunday night while at community group we had to cut it short due to the ice that started falling and actually already sticking to the ground. Jackson...and Andrew were so excited watching the ice fall praying for it to turn into snow...which it did a little bit. We went to bed in hopes of waking up Monday morning with more snow than we would know what to do with, or at least enough to build poor Jackson a snowman. I feel so bad for Jackson. Ever since he watched Frosty the Snowman he has been dying to make one of his very own. He has been teased several times so far this year with "snow" but never enough or the right kind to make one with. I think the way we are going this winter we may at least see one snow worthy enough for making a snowman.

Disappointing we only literally got an inch...of ice. So Andrew took Jackson out walking around the house...which Jackson said it was "too icy" and Andrew had to carry him the rest of the way. Then Jackson and Andrew came to the front yard on the sled. Jackson loved being pulled!

While the boys went outside, EKC and I stayed warm inside!

I Heart Faces! Photo Contest: Smile

This week I am entering in the I heart faces weekly photo contest. This week is all about smiles. So since I can hardly ever catch Jackson on camera smiling I entered precious, always willing to smile at the camera Eva Kate.

Here Eva Kate was lying on the floor playing with her big brother. All the lighting used was natural.
