Father's Day Weekend 2011

We had a fabulous Father's day weekend.  We celebrated with our father's on Saturday night.  We grilled out and had fun!  Here are are few photos:

Sunday morning (Father's Day) we woke up and Andrew and Jackson made strawberry pancakes together!  

After breakfast we had a great time at church.  When we came home we tried out Andrew's Father's day gift by making awesome panini's!  WE LOVE the Panini maker!  

We officially have a crawler.  Eva Kate zooms all around the house.  Of course she isn't satisfied with that and insists on pulling up and attempting to walk.  She is keeping all of us on our toes!  

Over the past few weeks Eva Kate has really been showing her personality.  She has a variety of funny faces...let me explain:

To wrap up the face portion of this blog I wanted to add the best photo yet...I captured both kiddos.  This is where Jackson was trying to take the toy out of Eva Kate's hand and she got made and yelled at him....PRICELESS faces...poor Jackson is dealing with Diva Eva!

 

Last night she tried to climb out of the bathtub and slipped and luckily Andrew caught her and all I saw was her little tush sticking up in the air!  She is a mess!

As much as Eva Kate is changing and growing up, so is Jackson.  Out of the blue he has started trying new foods that he would normally not touch...new favorite, apples.

Also Jackson has been doing remarkable in his swim lessons.  He is now jumping off the side of the pool and off the diving board.  He can also swim around under water and pick up toys!  He is growing up too fast! 

I Heart Faces! Daddy Daughter:)

This weeks I Heart Faces! contest was in honor of Father's day.  The other night Eva Kate fell asleep in Andrew's arms and it was just precious! It is a rarity for her to fall asleep anywhere other than her car seat or her crib!  I just love those two!  They shared such a special moment and glad I was able to capture it!  Daddy's little girl!

Summertime

I am aware that I have not blogged in a while.  In fact I have been blogging just in the edit mode and will post as soon as I finish. It is really long including all that has gone on in the past week or two.  I promise it is coming soon! 

With that said I wanted to post a quick, fun blog about this week.  Jackson started his swim lessons yesterday and it went better than I had expected.  I pretty much expected it to be like his first weeks of school but really only the first half of lessons went that way.  He still refuses to wear his goggles, but we are working on that!

I have been a member of Groupon for the longest time ever but just recently started purchasing them.  I have gotten some amazing deals such as our incredible canvases (which I LOVE), Shutterfly books, Old Navy deals, and haircuts.  Last week I purchased two groupons for haircuts for Jackson.  We cashed in on one of them today!  Jackson had been looking at the photos online and said he wanted to get his haircut while sitting in the Thomas the Train chair.  Well we get there and he chose the pink Barbie convertible.  I have to admit it was the coolest since it played music and when you pushed the pedals the wheels actually moved!  Still it cracked me up!  He got an awesome haircut and at an incredible price!  Thank you again Groupon!

 Eva Kate is more mobile than ever!  Watch out!  Gotta love her!  I can't believe that in two months our baby girl will be ONE! Time flies!

Last Day of School

I can not believe that Jackson's school is out for the summer!  Actually I am surprised we made it through the year!

We started off rough but with the help of all of the amazing teachers at Crossroads Weekday Preschool, they helped Jackson adjust to being away from Mommy.  I am so proud of my little man.  He has grown up so much in a school year, learned so much, and made some great little friends!  Jackson is sad not to play with his friends but we are looking forward to summer play dates with our friends.  Since my surgery we have been blessed to have Pappy be able to take Jackson to school so that he could enjoy his last few days.  

Today was Jackson's last day and his teachers were throwing a party.  I have been off of my pain meds a few days so I was able to go to his party and pick him up!  It was so nice to catch up with friends I have missed.  Jackson, Eva Kate and I had so much fun! 

 

Jackson got to give his teacher's their Thank You presents and his teachers gave him one of his favorite things: a puzzle! 

Also they had made a book in the same boat as "Brown Bear Brown Bear" but had pictures of Jackson.  It was crazy how much he had changed in a year.  You can also see the progression of him not liking school because Mommy wasn't there to him loving school!  Reading through this book brings back memories, read above each photo. 

  This is the day that the teachers made blue Jello and Jackson REFUSED to taste it.  I remember thinking "what kid doesn't like jello?"  After his teacher told me that he wouldn't even try it I asked Jackson why and he said "mommy I don't eat blue jelly"  Gotta love him!

  

 So at the beginning of the year Jackson wouldn't color, paint or participate in art (which was weird because that is all he does at home!)  I believe this was the first time they were able to paint his hand and you can tell he was still a little upset about it (my little clean boy doesn't like to get dirty) 

One night we had open house and the teacher showed us Jackson's photo they use for morning activities and when we saw Jackson's we couldn't stop laughing!  We had never seen him make this face before but think it is so adorable.  Since then if you ask Jackson "what face did you make at school?" he will make this face:)

 

After school I told Jackson I would take him to lunch so he chose of course: French Fries.

Eva Kate had lunch too and she was pretty tired from all the excitement of the party!

 

On that note I think Jackson is going to take a nap too so I can do a little bit of relaxing.
